For the 80th anniversary of the foundation of Baraclit, we were commissioned to create a photographic work that focuses on the people and the relationship between the company and the territory. Baraclit is a company from Casentino active in the design and construction of prefabricated concrete structures, which has contributed significantly to the industrial and employment development of the valley.
Our work focused on the people who work at Baraclit and the continuous relationship between what is thought, created and the context in which it takes shape. The images follow the path that leads the material to transform into architecture: from factory work to handling, from transport to assembly, up to the insertion of the structures into the landscape.
Photography thus observes the concrete and dynamic dimension of production, made up of technology, skills, gestures and transformations. People appear as part of this process, along with materials, machinery and artefacts, giving measure and human presence to the industrial scale.
